my name is Miriam and I’m a German PhD student. In my spare time I like to be creative. It already started very early as a child where I loved to craft things.

As a teenager I started off with pencil drawings and after a while switched to acrylics which is one of my favourite hobbies nowadays. Drawing and painting is widespread in my family. My father, my sister and all my aunts and uncles are in some way artistically engaged. A lot of them even in their jobs. My favourite themes are animals because I just love to draw and paint them and make them look alive. ๐Ÿ™‚ For me, painting and being creative in general is a good balance to my work.

I also make a lot of creative presents because I love to make special and individual gifts for my friends and my family. I already crafted a tree of wire, folded flowers out of money, made jewelry and designed new labels for bottles. I also did bead animals, origami and I love taking photos. And I’m pretty much sure that I forgot to mention a lot of other creative things that I did. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A short time ago I discovered knitting and crocheting to be another great creative task to do. I saw a girl in the train knitting a pair of socks which inspired me to try it out myself. I learned knitting at school when I was 10 years old but dind’t remeber a lot. So I asked my mother to show me how to do it. After my second pair of socks and some pair of socks as presents for friends getting a baby, it turned out to get boring. So I searched for new challenges, starting of to do baby shoes and some gloves for me which are not yet finished. It’s quite a big step from a pair of socks to baby shoes or golves which could be quite difficult to knit, but I had and still have a lot of fun doing it. When searching for new inspirations on the internet I found a lot of instructions for crocheting cute little animals. I couldn’t hold myself off and also started crocheting animals and flowers, which I will also present on my blog. Lots of other projects followed and will follow in the future.

When I started knitting and crocheting it just seemed a bit odd at the beginning because all of my friends thought that it’s not trendy and just boring. But when they saw what I created they were very surprised and liked all the stuff that I did. To reach more people and show others what I like to do, I started this blog and I hope that some of you will maybe be inspired and start being creative theirselfs. ๐Ÿ™‚ Please don’t hesitate to give me some feedback and let me know what you think about the blog and all the stuff presented.

That’s it!
